2017 Time for Time

This wine has a serious and brooding quality. Initially subtle, it opens with black cherry and spiced rum. With a little time in glass it begins to offer black berry, clove, tanned leather, dried orange peel and pomegranate. The palate is impenetrable, coiled and dark. There is a sense of mystery in the way the fruit is pulled together, providing only glimpses of what one recognizes as fruit; charcoal and blackberries, smoke from Live Oak fire, black tea, cherry liquor, and true grenadine. It is tense, with a line of very bright acidity punctuated and softened by dusty tannins, cocoa powder, and clay.
